USC and Community Hospital launches medical clinic in Maracas Valley

Maracas Valley is now home to a brand new, accessible, and improved healthcare hub. unveiling occurred on Sunday, September 17, 2023 thanks to the USC and the CH of SDA.

Maracas Valley is now home to a brand new, accessible, and improved healthcare hub, thanks to the teaming up of the University of the Southern Caribbean (USC) and the Community Hospital of Seventh-day Adventists. This unveiling occurred on Sunday, September 17, 2023. The inauguration took place at 2:30 pm and was marked by a spirit of community, unity, and hope.
This collaboration signifies a commitment to excellence in healthcare, ensuring that high-quality medical services are within reach for the university community and the residents of Maracas Valley. The Grand Opening and Health Fair held at the USC Medical Clinic on Royal Road in Maracas, St. Joseph, drew a diverse crowd of enthusiastic attendees.
The Honorable Esmond Forde, Member of Parliament for Tunapuna, delivered the keynote address, emphasizing the rich history and enduring values of the Seventh-day Adventist community's commitment to healthcare. He paid tribute to the Port of Spain Community Hospital, highlighting its vital role in supporting government medical services.
The Health Fair offered a range of free healthcare services and resources. Attendees had the opportunity for vision screenings, doctor's consultations, free blood pressure testing, blood sugar testing, and nutrition consultations. The newly inaugurated medical facility, previously known as USC's Health & Wellness Centre, was a fully functional General Practice (GP) clinic serving the campus community and the wider region.
