The recent passing of Pastor William Severist Cunningham has left a deep void in both the religious and social spheres of Trinidad and Tobago. With an illustrious career spanning over 37 years as a Minister of the Gospel, Pastor Cunningham was celebrated for his fervent dedication to preaching and his outspoken stance on societal issues.
A graduate of the Caribbean Union College (now University of the Southern Caribbean) in 1986, Pastor Cunningham served in numerous districts across the twin-island republic, leaving an indelible mark wherever he ministered. His commitment to his calling was evident through his dynamic presence and unwavering faith. He sadly passed away on 12th, December, 2023.
Notably, Pastor Cunningham was the brother of Ps Martin Cunningham, the Executive Secretary of the Tobago Conference. His wife Sis. Jessica Cunningham, serves as the Conference's Education Director.
While Pastor Cunningham gained national recognition as a social commentator, his approach often stirred controversy. Described as brash in his opinions, his unwavering passion for the gospel, politics, and social issues was undeniable.
