In an initiative to promote community well-being, the Health Ministries department of the South Caribbean Conference organized a Health Awareness Program on Sunday, February 4, 2024 at Knutt Pond Road, Sixth Company Village, New Grant. The program drew in participants from the local community eager to prioritize their health.
Running from 9 AM to 2 PM, the event offered an array of health services catering to diverse needs. Attendees had the opportunity to avail themselves of services such as height and weight measurements, body water composition assessments, step tests/exercise guidance, blood pressure testing, stress test management, blood sugar testing, and vision screenings. The program went above and beyond normal health outreach programs by providing additional specialized services, including computer age analysis, specialized ear testing, and even relaxing massages for both children and adults at a small nominal cost. This holistic approach aimed to address various aspects of health and well-being.
A notable feature of the program was the hands-on CPR training with certification, empowering participants with life-saving skills. Furthermore, attendees had the chance to purchase items promoting health and wellness, including Caribbean Health Foods products, health and family life books, and organic health and beauty products.
The Health Awareness Program not only offered essential health services but also fostered a sense of community and proactive well-being. By addressing a range of health needs while at the same time providing valuable resources, the SCC Health Ministries continues to demonstrate a commitment to promoting a healthier and more resilient community.
