Adventist Church joins local World Inter-Faith Harmony Week celebration

In a display of unity and shared values, the Adventist Church in Trinidad participated in the World Interfaith Harmony Week, hosted by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints of Baker Trace, Sangre Grande, on Sunday, February 4, 2024.

The program was dedicated to promoting understanding and unity among individuals of diverse faiths and a key part of the program was a special testimony service from 9:00 am to 10:00 am, marking a commitment to the ideals of peace within and among all nations and peoples.

Sister Victoria Decoteau, Health Ministries Director, highlighted the unique nature of the event, emphasizing its mission to foster unity among people of different faiths. She expressed gratitude, stating, "Because we did a health fair for them, they invited us to be part of the program." While the Health Ministries Director was unable to attend, Dr. Clive Dottin represented the local Adventist Church and praised the "cross-cultural bridge-building worship ceremony" hosted by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

This initiative was initiated by an invitation from Mr. Christopher T. Danzell, Stake President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints as part of World Interfaith Harmony Week which is designated by the United Nations from February 1-7 every year.

World Interfaith Harmony Week serves as a reminder of the importance of mutual respect, dialogue, and cooperation among followers of various religions. The Adventist Church encourages its members to embrace the spirit of interfaith harmony as we all seek to give glory to God.
